The HIIT Conference is UTEP’s premier forum for advancing excellence in teaching and learning. Held November 5–7, 2025, the three-day conference brings together faculty, staff, and students to explore invention, innovation, and impact across higher education. Programming includes lightning talks, hands-on workshops, and roundtable discussions highlighting inclusive pedagogy, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and high-impact, student-centered learning practices. Dr. Talukder is widely recognized for fostering an inclusive and collaborative classroom and lab culture grounded in mentorship, real-world relevance, and balanced academic rigor. His teaching philosophy centers on three core principles: active engagement through authentic applications, individualized attention and mentorship, and instructional rigor that respects and supports student diversity.
Across his academic career, Dr. Talukder has continuously refined his courses using student feedback, peer input, and outcomes-based evidence. Since joining UTEP, he has further strengthened his instructional design through iterative updates to syllabi, assessments, and course materials, ensuring alignment with evolving disciplinary standards and student needs.
His courses emphasize professional reasoning, secure system design, and ethical decision-making, resulting in stronger student confidence, higher engagement in advanced applied projects, and increased readiness for industry and research pathways. Dr. Talukder’s approach reflects the University's shared mission to deliver access, excellence, and high-impact education for a diverse student population.
